Genetic Differentiation of Red Clover (Trifolium pratense L.) Cultivars and Their Wild Relatives

چکیده
Biodiversity of red clover is changing. It become more difficult to find new breeding material. Moreover, populations with predominant morphological features cultivars are frequently found in wild habitats. Therefore, it important identify genetic structure and diversity within among worldwide. During this research, seed samples from (Trifolium pratense L.) habitats were collected different Lithuanian sites nemoral environmental zone. Subsequently, germinated greenhouse randomly taken for analyses. ISSR fingerprints 339 genotypes 13 5 varieties analysed. Analysis molecular variance (AMOVA) has shown high variation (83%). The highest polymorphism was identified population pop2887 (PPL = 82.28%). Interestingly the ranged 64.56 (‘Vytis’) 83.54 (‘Liepsna’). Meanwhile, low—17%. Fixation index FST 0.182 revealed differentiation while gene flow an exchange 2.2474 migrants per generation. This a between Lithuania.

Red Clover (Trifolium pratense)
Brief Background: Red clover is a legume, which like soy contains "phytoestrogens" (plant-based compounds structurally similar to estradiol, capable of binding to estrogen receptors as an agonist or antagonist). Red clover was traditionally used to treat asthma, pertussis, cancer, and gout. In modern times, isoflavone extracts of red clover are most often used to treat menopausal symptoms, as a...

Genetic modification of plants by the insertion of transgenes can be a powerful experimental approach to answer basic questions about gene product function. This technology can also be used to make improved crop varieties for use in the field. To apply this powerful tool to red clover, an important forage legume, a population of red clover with a high potential for regeneration in tissue cultur...

Trifolium spp. are native plants in Iran exhibiting good ground cover po-tential. Salinity is a major environmental stress and today, 20% of the world cultivated areas and nearly half of all irrigated lands are affected by salinity. The main aim of this research was to study morphological and physiological adaptations of these native species under different salinity levels for urban landscape u...

متن کاملIsoflavone content in red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) as related to nitrogen and phosphorus application rate
Red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) as a dietary supplement is currently used to treat menopausal symptoms because of its high concentrations of mildly estrogenic isoflavone. The application rate of N and P fertilizer has a huge influence on the isoflavone content (IC) in red clover. Trifolium pratense ‘Minshan’ is a unique plant resource in the alpine pasture region of northwest China. It plays...
